The Kentucky Secular Society (KySS) is a 501(c) organization that supports church/state separation; promotes proper science education in public schools; promotes atheism, agnosticism, humanism, and other forms of freethinking; and provides community-building activities for secular citizens.

Separation of Church and State in Public Schools with AU Louisville
This month, KySS and Louisville Atheists and Freethinkers is joining the Americans United Louisville Chapter to discuss the separation of church and state in our public schools.

Join us for a panel discussion of current issues related to the separation of church and state in our public schools. Our panelists, AU Legislative Director, Maggie Garrett, ACLU of Kentucky Legal Fellow, Heather Gatnarek, Senator Morgan McGarvey and JCPS Vice Chair, Lisa Willner will discuss the scholarship tax credit and abstinence education bills pending in Kentucky's legislature as well as the implementation of the Biblical literacy bill that passed in 2017.

This program is co-sponsored by Americans United for the Separation of Church and State, Louisville chapter, ACLU of Kentucky, the Cooperative Consortium for Transdisciplinary Social Justice Research at U of L and the Secular Student Alliance - U of L chapter.
