Meet and Mingle at Kyle United Methodist Church!

Join us from 10-11am on Sunday, September 30th in the Family Life Center for a 5th Sunday Bagel Bar.

This is our first ever Bagel Bar so we need your help in providing goodies for it. Please use the sign-up list to say what you are bringing,  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/904054ea9ab23a64-meet . Items can be brought the Family Life Center between 8:30-9:45am.

The questions will range from easy ones to start the conversation and a few designed to help us realize how God moves in each of our lives. We will break into random small groups of all ages. Feel free to post questions you might want to ask here or via email.

There will be no Sunday school this day so everyone, adults and kiddos, can take part.

If you have any questions, or would like to help on planning, please contact Jodie Claes at 512-787-6711 or  [email protected] .

Kyle UMC Leadership Nominations for 2019

The Church Council is preparing for our annual Charge Conference scheduled for October 28, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. One part of the process is nominating leaders for 2019.

Attached is a Leadership Nominations form explaining the various roles and a place where you can nominate yourself or someone else. Please prayerfully consider how you are willing to serve the church in 2019.

The church needs people to complete ongoing tasks, such as:

  • keeping the pew backs stocked with offering envelopes, prayer and EFT offering cards.
  • administrative work such as data entry
  • assistance with a membership audit which includes mailings and keeping track of responses

Additionally, we need people to serve on the hospitality team. This group helps set up, clean up, plan and organize receptions for memorials/funerals and church-wide potlucks and dinners.

Please contact Pastor Darlene at  [email protected]  if you are available to help.

Please place your donation in the offering plate in an envelope marked "Turkeys Tackling Hunger". Paul Mojica and Jodie Claes can answer any questions you may have.

Do you feel called to work with Children's Ministry?

We are needing an additional Sunday School teacher for our 1st-5th grade class in the Fall starting in September. Teachers typically trade off Sundays so it is not an every Sunday commitment.

Holy Moly Curriculum will be provided. Just come and have a great time leading our children in Sunday School!
If you'd like to help out with this class or the Toddler-Kinder class, please contact Alissa Villarreal at [email protected]
Holy Moly Children's Sunday School starts back up Sunday, September 2nd! Join us Sundays at 10:00am in the Family Life Center.

  • More show than tell
Animated Bible story videos use visuals and sound effects, giving kids the opportunity to retell the story in their own words.

  • Bible-centered approach
Kids interact with the Bible in every lesson, following the arc of the biblical narrative.

  • Continue the conversation
Kids walk away from lessons, retelling the stories they’ve learned and taking home completed activities.

We'll have 2 classes for the Fall: Toddler-Kinder and First-Fifth Grade

BLESSINGS BOX

Our Blessings Box is getting utilized by the community, which is great, but that also means that it is getting emptied out quite frequently. Please consider donating non-perishable food items, diapers, personal care items and snack food items (goldfish, raisins, etc) if you are able.

One person from the community told us she visits the Blessings Box at least twice a week and is especially grateful for the diapers and kid friendly foods. She says she stops by on the way to take her kids to the park and can almost always find a snack for them.

Youth Sunday School

Spending time in community with other believers is an important part of every student’s spiritual journey. That’s why Bible Studies for Life: Students is designed around a plan to help disciple to students with wisdom, starting with real-life issues and connecting them to God’s Word in an intentional way.
  • Welcome Home (Unit 1): Words are an important part of communication, but they only make up a small portion of what we communicate to others. We want to have welcoming churches and student ministries, but we first have to evaluate what we are really communicating through our behavior. We might be saying the right words, but do visitors truly feel accepted?

  • In this study, we’ll take a look at what it means to show true hospitality to our neighbors.
