ANNOUNCEMENTS
THE AUGUST 27 LARCP FACULTY MEETING IS CANCELLED--we were able to cover enough business during our meeting on the 17th! The next meeting will LA Faculty on September 3.

in the KSOL LARCP Faculty Student Affairs folder.


The APDesign visit from the President and Provost
is scheduled for Wednesday, September 30, 2:15 - 3:30 pm. The meeting will take place at APDesign West in Room 116. The schedule for the meeting will be:

1. Dean's highlights of key accomplishments and successes related to the     APDesign 2025 plan - 30 min
2. President's and Provost's presentation - 30 min
3. Open Q&A - 30 min

Minor revisions to the LARCP Communications Flow Chart have been made to include the 4 Winds plasma screens. The revised version is available here and in the August meeting KSOL folder. 

Thomas Woltz has confirmed that he will be the LA Distinguished Lecture. He will present on February 29. 
OUR CONTRIBUTIONS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Assistant Professor Kate Nesse was elected to the North American Regional Science Council (NARSC) Council as the representative from the Mid-Continent Regional Science Association. 

Associate Huston Gibson published a  book review for Introduction to Cities: How Place and Space Shape Human Experience (2013) by Xiangming Chen, Anthony M. Orum, and Krista E. Paulsen (authors), West Sussex: Wiley-Blackwell (publisher) in the Journal of Urban Affairs, 2015, 37(3), 365-366. 

Associate Professor Katie Kingery-Page is working with Linda Duke (BMA) and Mary Lou Marino (ORSP) as they pilot workshops and coaching in the use of visual thinking strategies geared to the Global Food Systems graduate student researchers. PhD students and post-docs working in the Global Food Systems initiative will use visual thinking strategies to communicate essential concepts of their research to undergrad KSU students participating in select classes in spring 2016.

The Creative Placemaking Net at Kansas State University, a group of six landscape architecture students and one faculty member, are interested in the potential of art and design to influence place. As they embark upon yearlong projects they will be updating a blog, found here.
