Multidisciplinary student teams, including community development, are holding a public presentation on Monday, Dec. 14 from 7-8:30 pm at Fire Department Headquarters, Lecture Hall 2000 Denison Avenue (north of K-State campus). Click here for more details.

Please complete the online K-State Engagement Benchmarking Tool (EBT) for your engaged work during the past calendar year. The survey will be open until February 1. Participation in the EBT replaces our department report on engagement and supports your annual evaluation, frees up committee time and provides a larger audience for our work. The survey takes approximately 15 minutes. Our department will obtain a copy of LARCP reporting. You may preview the survey here before completing it at:

OUR CONTRIBUTIONS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Kelsey Steward and Kaitlin Bernal, 4th year MLA students, are the recipients of the 2016 MESA Design Discovery Award. They will each receive $2,500 in support of field experience to explore, learn, and broaden their design awareness. Applicants developed travel study proposals with personal significance to them related to their future endeavors as a designer. 

OF INTEREST
The Nelson-Atkins museum exhibit of Thomas Hart Benton's work runs through January 3, 2016. His storytelling techniques are relevant to the work we do as planners and landscape architects. You'll find more information here

The 53rd 
IMCL Conference on Caring for Our Common Home: Sustainable, Just Cities & Settlements, to take place in Rome, Italy, June 13-17, 2016. Click here for call for papers and here for the design awards competition. Deadline for submission is December 20.

Community Development Society (CDS) and International Association for Community Development (IACD) Conference is  July 24-27, 2016 in  Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport Mall of America Hilton, Bloomington, Minnesota.  The conference theme is  Sustaining Community Change; Building Local Capacity to Sustain Community Development Initiatives.  Call for Abstracts d eadline is December 31.
