CONTRIBUTIONS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Congratulations to Jonathan Knight, MLA student for his first place entry,  "Solitude/Sand: Pillsbury Crossing,"  in the landscape category of the APDesign Thomas A. Tyler/Answers Inc. Architectural & Environmental Photography Competition.

Students working with LARCP faculty received three of this year's thirteen Arts, Humanities, & Social Sciences Small Grants from the KSU Graduate School:

Parker Ruskcamp, 5th year MLA student, received
 support for his travel to the University of Chicago to collaborate with the ¬≠¬≠¬≠Environmental Neuroscience Lab. The trip supports his masters project and report which aims to investigate how different characteristics of the physical environment affect stress. Parker's major professor is Dr. Brent Chamberlain.

Jared Sickmann, 5th year MLA student, received support for construction of his master's project, "ParkingScape: Implementing Portable Landscapes to Enhance Aggieville's Streetscape." Jared's major professor is Associate Professor Howard Hahn.

Elizabeth Musoke, PHD candidate, received support for her travel to Kenya to conduct interviews as a part of her doctoral research, "Understanding the Adoption of Soil and Water Conservation Practices in the Mara River Basin, Kenya." Elizabeth's major professor is Dr. Tim Keane.

Assistant Professor Brent Chamberlain and Associate Professor Howard Hahn received an Academic Excellence Award together with Nathan Bean (Computer Science), Michael Wesch (Anthropology) and the Beach Museum (Linda Duke and Luke Dempsey) . The award will support a community event and university network for data visualization, gaming and simulation.

Associate Professor Blake Belanger received an Academic Excellence Award to purchase supplies and equipment to facilitate creative teaching methods in the new Unlocking Creativity course.
