SCHOLARSHIPS
The Landscape Architecture  Internship Support Scholarship provides up to $1,000 in support of extraordinary expenses associated with completion of an internship . Applications are due December 11 for 7 month internships and May 6 for summer internships. Apply by sending a brief essay (no more than two pages) describing your internship plans and specific financial need created by the internship opportunity including the magnitude of financial need in proportion to expenses and other income associated with the internship to  larcpdept@ksu.edu . The Chapman Center for Rural Studies is looking for a Landscape Architect or Architecture student to create a construction document of plans for an exhibit structure as an independent project, Spring 2016. OUR CONTRIBUTIONS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Associate Professors La Barbara Wigfall and Katie Kingery-Page presented "New Kansas Roots for  Students: Building Cultural Competency through the Nicodemus Project" at the 2015 Institute for Student Learning Assessment/Diversity Summit at K-State, Nov. 13. Wigfall and Kingery-Page were joined by RCP alumn, Lauren Garrott and Nicodemus descendent, Johnella Holmes, for this panel presentation.

Associate Professor Katie Kingery-Page presented "Meadow -Thinking" at the Nov. 12 Leonardo Art-Science Evening Rendezvous (LASER) hosted by the K-State department of art and held at the Beach Museum.

Calayde Davey, PhD candidate, has successfully defended and completed her dissertation, "Productive urban landscapes: the relationship between urban agriculture and property prices in Minneapolis, Minnesota." Calayde's supervisory committee was:

Assistant Professor Brent Chamberlain received a $2,544 KSU Faculty Development Award to support his presentation of "Using landscape visualization to inform streetscape design" at the Digital Landscape Architecture 2016 conference in Istanbul, Turkey.

The Nelson-Atkins museum exhibit of Thomas Hart Benton's work runs through January 3, 2016. His storytelling techniques are relevant to the work we do as planners and landscape architects. You'll find more information here
