Where you there? Where you a part of the BIGGEST Party with a Purpose in Los Angeles? The LAULYP 2nd Annual "To the Nines" was a HUGE success! The honorees celebrated danced the night away.
Last week was a HUGE week for the LAULYP, not only did they dedicate over 100 hours of service to the affiliate, and through THE BEST After Party our Affiliate has seen, to show our appreciation for the work they do every day, but we had our LARGEST National Day of Service to date at Fredrick Douglas High School...and we kicked off a dedication to our health with our Spring into Summer Weight Loss Challenge! We didn't stop there, you also found us honoring the 20th anniversary of the LA Civil Unrest by registering voters, and praying for our city with our CEO Blair Taylor at FAME Church.
We aren't finished yet! We are still hard at work creating change in the community through service and Building a Better YOU! Check out this issue of the Tuesday Talk to see where you can find the LAULYP and join in the fun, the work, and the service...we NEED YOU!

This year, the National Urban League heads to New Orleans for the 2012 annual conference! Taking place in an important election year and themed "Empower the Nation", the conference will tackle the issue of double digit unemployment affecting urban communities reminding each of us of the power and responsibility we share in making our country better and the integral role education plays in enabling that change.
Bringing together thought leaders, business leaders, and YOU, the conference will feature informative workshops, plenary sessions, and a plethora of networking opportunities. This year's N.U.L. Experience Expo Hall will also feature a Career Fair, College Fair and exciting exhibits and entertainment all in the great city of New Orleans!
