LCBA Welcomes Communications Manager Richard Fischer

The Louisiana Charter Boat Association is proud to announce the addition of former journalist and social media specialist Richard Fischer to the team!

Richard will serve as the association's Communications Manager, focusing on increasing the consistency and quality in which we communicate with our members, supporters, customers and industry partners. Richard is responsible for managing content for the LCBA website and social media platforms, as well as playing an important role in advertising, promotion and policy/legislative matters that affect our industry.

Richard’s extensive background in digital media, his journalistic experience and his strong roots in the Charter for Hire industry (his father is legendary charter fisherman Myron Fischer) make him a tremendous asset to the team and will allow us to further our efforts to protect and promote Louisiana’s charter fishing industry.

LCBA Partners with Guy Harvey Online, Bill Dance Outdoors to Increase Your Exposure

Through partnerships with well-respected businesses and organizations, the Louisiana Charter Boat Association is working on ways to not only get more eyeballs on your charter fishing business, but to get the right people looking at your business.

Our new partnership with Guy Harvey’s Online Fisherman ( theonlinefisherman.com), will result in the creation of a Louisiana section on their popular website. LCBA will be the partner responsible for providing content for the Louisiana page. This will allow our members to post content like reports, tips & tactics, videos etc. If you become a regular and reliable contributor, you'll have a personal bio page with a link to your website, and your contact information listed on the Guy Harvey Online Fisherman website.

LCBA is also partnering with Bill Dance Outdoors' digital team ( billdanceoutdoors.com) working hand-in-hand to maximize our exposure with his social media audience through basin-specific fishing reports, videos and much more. Bill is a huge fan of Louisiana fishing and he is going to do a lot to help us spread the word about the LCBA and our world class captains.

We’re looking forward to these new partnerships, and expect it to help bring more attention to our industry and your businesses.

Guide Discount Program on the Way!

Every time we go out into the community and ask our members what we could provide to them to make them happier, we always come back with one answer: deals on gear.

Therefore, LCBA is currently working to cultivate corporate business partners who will offer discounts to our Captains on goods and services important to your business.

We will also be partnering with local businesses to provide services at discounted rates as well.

Stay tuned for the details of this program as we unveil our plans and partners in the coming weeks.

What we've been up to....
Last month, LCBA Executive Director Ben Weber attended the annual International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades (or ICAST, for short) in Orlando, Florida. ICAST is the world's largest sportfishing trade show.

There, Ben developed relationships with a lot of the best manufactures, many of which will join forces with us in the aforementioned Guide Discount Program.

"ICAST was a great opportunity for us to go out there and say thank you to folks that had been working with in the past that have supported us or done good things for the industry," Ben said. "It was also great to lay the groundwork to promote our interests with new businesses and allies."
Last week, Ben joined Captain Buddy Bergeron and the Louisiana Sportsman TV Crew of Greg Hackney and Jared Serigne' to film an upcoming episode.

As part of our advertising agreement with Louisiana Sportsman TV, the episode will center around how to find a good guide and how the Louisiana Charter Boat Association is a great resource to do just that.

The group fished out of Venice's Cypress Cove Marina and hammered big bull reds all day long, releasing all of them.

Pictured is Ben with one of those bad boys.

Check your local listings for when this episode of Louisiana Sportsman TV will air.
