Celebrating 50 years of promoting literacy! 

Reconnect with old friends, students, tutors, teachers, and supporters. Hear about the impact the Council has had on the lives of both instructors and learners. Learn how the Council has evolved to support the changing needs of the community. Program begins at 4 PM and will be followed by a reception.

One for the BooksCelebrate 50 years of improving our community through literacy in all aspects of life!  

 

Mingle with celebrity chef José Andrés, award-winning author David Baldacci, and prominent financial advisor Ric Edelman.  

 

Robert Egger, who The NonProfit Times listed as one of the "50 Most Powerful and Influential" nonprofit leaders, will serve as Master of Ceremonies for this fundraising gala. Egger is the Founder and President of the DC Central Kitchen, the country's first "community kitchen", where food donated by hospitality businesses and farms is used to fuel a nationally recognized culinary arts job training program.  

 

The event menu is inspired by José Andrés and catering will be provided by Fresh Start Catering.   

 

Tickets are priced at $150 each. Only 200 tickets will be sold for this once-in-a-lifetime 50th anniversary celebration at the scenic Masonic Memorial. Purchase tickets now!
