Principal Message:  May 12, 2017

Dear Parents,

Can you believe that we only have two weeks left in this school year?  This last was very busy and productive. Our third and fourth graders completed their STAAR tests, and then we our 1st grade Mother's day tea, our Kindergarten Muffins with Moms, and Kindergarten Sneak Peek.  As you are aware, the new popular item has been fidget spinners. Although these items do serve a purpose for students who need this as supplementary aid, the number of students who need this is very small and those families have been informed that it would be beneficial for their child to have. Fidget spinners have become a rather large distraction in the classroom because they are not being used as intended. We welcome them for students to have on the playground. However, in the classroom, if used properly, we should not see these items as they are to be kept under their desk while being used. Since almost all of the fidget spinners being brought to school are being used for entertainment, I wanted to let you know we will take them up from students who are playing with them and then return them at the end of the day.   Thank you in advance for your support with the new fidget spinners.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

All My Best,
Wendy Craft

Senior Project - Children's Miracle Network
Ashton Franquiz, a Junior at Lovejoy High School, will be competing in the Miss Texas Outstanding Teen pageant. She is the reigning Miss Hunt County's Outstanding Teen 2017.  Ashton is a philanthropist at heart and feels blessed to be raised in North Dallas and in the Lovejoy District. She is part of the Majestics leadership team, choir, theatre program, and NHS. She dances outside of school and finds time to give back through the National Charity League. Ashton feels "To much is given, much is required." Ashton believes we all can make a difference, even if it is 1 hour serving somewhere.  Some are called to serve and some are called to give, but by doing something, we can all make a difference.
Over the next several weeks, Ashton is raising money for the Children's Miracle Network. Would you help her in this campaign?  "Your spare change can make a change."  Containers to collect change will be located at each campus.
