Textile Artist and Tutor
Newsletter 73 ~ 28th January 2014

Hope no-one is too shocked by this new image showing the wrinkles, as I think the old one was taken some 20 years. I have changed the image especially for someone who suggested I should ....she will know who she is!!!!

Well I do hope you are enjoying all this rain and mud. I must admit it is at times like this that I am so grateful that I am a textile artist and can work indoors, not like a farmer or gardener......but then I suppose some people like to battle with the elements.

However us creative folk do have our own battles to contend with. Take me for instance.....now who else spent Sunday afternoon painting silicone worms......now don't ask.....just accept. When one is called upon to do certain tasks, one must oblige. Anyway here is the proof.
I wonder if anyone can actually tell me what kind of worms these are?

Drawing and Designing for Textiles

My summer school will be running, but I can squeeze in an extra few which will make the to make the dynamics even more exciting. This course will look at how drawing can be used to generate and develop ideas into personalised designs through a series of well practised techniques. These developments will be resolved into fabric and stitch through enabling students to explore a range of materials an processes. Personal responses will be encouraged at all times. It will be fun and hopefully sunny!!!
