DO YOU WORK WITH FAMILIES DURING THE CHILDBEARING YEAR?

In this interactive workshop, participants will explore what it means to provide LGBQ/T specific and culturally competent care. During this workshop we will explore barriers to care that LGBQ/T families face, the unique ways in which we create and care for our families, and ways participants can provide anti-oppressive care. Participants will be challenged to think about the ways in which they present their services, structure their spaces, promote themselves and how to move beyond a rainbow sticker and ensure that their work is culturally competent. Some discussion of LGBQ/T 101 terms will be included as well as ample time for discussion and small group activities.
