Survey Close to Completion for LHA’s Statewide Strategic Framework

The Lanterman Housing Alliance Board is calling on its members and their networks to play a vital role in the development of a Statewide Strategic Framework for the development of affordable housing for people with developmental disabilities. The Framework, funded by California’s State Council on Developmental Disabilities and led by LHA in partnership with the nationally-recognized Corporation for Supportive Housing, will engage key stakeholders, establish benchmarks, identify broad goals and encourage visionary problem solving related to housing and services for California’s DD population.

Patti Uplinger of Housing Now  Gives Testimony

On January 9th, Patti Uplinger gave testimony at the Sacramento City Council meeting in support of several people with developmental disabilities at risk of losing their homes. These individuals who are currently utilizing supported living services, many with Housing Choice Vouchers, are in need of new housing by March 1st.

Yes in My Backyard: Envisioning more inclusive neighborhoods through ADUs

Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), sometimes known as “secondary units”, “in-law units,” or “granny flats,” represent a promising new housing strategy for people with developmental disabilities, as a result of recent California legislation requiring local jurisdictions to take steps to facilitate the development of ADUs in single-family neighborhoods.

Legacy Homes Update:
Grants, New Tools, and Outreach in Los Angeles County Move LHA Closer to Launching Program

The enduring and haunting question faced by many parents is what happens to my adult child with developmental disabilities after I’m gone. The LHA Legacy Homes committee is developing a program that confronts this overwhelming concern while also addressing one’s long-term housing needs.
