Watermelons and Many New Offerings from Local Farmers
We hope you're staying hydrated in this heat. It sure is stifling, but our local farmers are still producing despite the challenges of dry, hot weather. Just take a look at the beautiful cherry tomatoes that just came in yesterday from Deep Mud Farm, or the other sungold, cherry, heirloom, and regular tomatoes from Double Star Farms, Buttonwood Farm, and others. And how about those delicious juicy watermelons? They're on sale this week for just $4.99 each.
Other new offerings from local farmers are grass-fed beef cuts from Three Spring Farms and chicken and duck eggs from Ben Roberts. Three Spring Farms are from Perry County, and you can read more about them below. Ben Roberts' Heritage Poultry and Eggs sells quality chicken and eggs from free range hens which are fed hard red wheat, nuts, kelp, and comfrey in addition to their diet on the pasture. That's no soy feed and non-GMO feed.
