WORK BEGINS ON MOFFAT LIBRARY ROOF
On Monday,  May 2nd, StandBack Construction crew were spotted on the roof of the soon to be restored, renewed and reimagined  Moffat Library.

Between intermittent rain, the crew worked to remove the old shingles from the lower part of the tower and roof over the east wing.  Gray slate will replace the old tiling.

When the building was constructed back in 1887, the roof was also slate.  In this nod to our history, we also take future roof maintenance into consideration, as slate is a more sustainable roofing material, and lasts much longer than other types of roof tile.

ATTENTION TEENS!
2016 BATTLE OF THE BOOKS
Saturday, September 10

Last year hundreds of teens, their parents and families representing 16 RCLS member libraries (including the Moffat Library)  battled it out for great prizes, the glory of winning and, most importantly, to have a good time.

What is Teen Battle of the Books you might ask?  It is a competition much like the old College Bowl program where teams compete by being the first to answer specific questions correctly.  In this case, the teams of teens (entering grade 6 to entering grade 12) are asked questions about 8 books that they have read.

For the complete line-up of books we'll read for Battle of the Books, follow this link.
