Mayor Approves LIC BID Expansion
On January 13th, we joined Mayor Bill de Blasio and Majority Leader Jimmy Van Bramer as the Mayor signed the law expanding the boundaries of the LIC Business Improvement District along Jackson Avenue, Vernon Boulevard and 44th Drive - nearly doubling the current catchment area. The BID previously encompassed Queens Plaza between Jackson Avenue and 21st Street, and Jackson Avenue between Queens Plaza and Court Square.
Once fully in effect later this year, approximately 190 additional businesses will officially begin receiving services providing by the BID, including supplemental sanitation, streetscape improvements, business assistance and enhanced marketing. Thanks again to
Majority Leader Jimmy Van Bramer, the BID Expansion Steering Committee and its Co-Chairs Gianna Cerbone-Teoli, Dr. Angelo Ippolito and Paula Kirby, the BID Board and the LIC Community for their support in moving this expansion forward. We also thank NYC SBS Commissioner Gregg Bishop and his team for all of their assistance. The press release is available
