LIC Concerts Begins Tonight on the Waterfront
Welcome back, LIC Concerts! The music series returns to Gantry Plaza State Park this summer with concerts on Thursdays at 7PM in July, Sundays at 7PM in August, plus a family and kids day on September 6th. The program kicks off tonight at 7PM with jazz arrangements of popular classical tunes by Jessica Anderson and Friends. Visit licconcerts.com for the complete schedule. NYCHA + Citi Announce First Resident Worker Co-op with Urban Upbound
Today,
Urban Upbound, NYCHA and Citi Community Development, along with Council Member Constantinides, announced the launch of the first worker cooperative for public housing residents, an innovative approach to creating job opportunities and business ownership in the Hallet's Point community.
Bishop Taylor of Urban Upbound introduced the first business launched, On Point Security, which will empower employees as business owners and leaders, opening doorways to greater economic opportunities. View a video about the new initiative here.

Call for Queens Choreographers
Mark your calendar for the 2nd annual
Queensboro Dance Festival from October 12-18, 2015 at The Secret Theatre LIC, Queens. As the only dance festival dedicated to Queens-based artists, the festival mission is to strengthen the dance identity in Queens and bring together the local community.
