| Empowering the voluntary sector: helping combat future funding cuts | |
Next year's budgets are now being set by the public sector and it is most likely that our sector will experience further cuts to funding. Now is not the time to do nothing!
Over the past six years NAVCA's Empowering the Voluntary Sector project has delivered workshops and a free advice line that have helped local voluntary and community groups to not only to successfully challenge disproportionate cuts but also build relationships with local public bodies.
To find out more about the how these workshops can help you negotiate effectively with public bodies on issue such as funding cuts, policy change consultation and local authority decisions concerning the provision of services, contact terry.perkins@navca.org.uk

NAVCA welcomes Government plan to help unemployed 16-17 year olds
|
|
NAVCA has welcomed the plans announced today by Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg to help young people find work, training or get back into education.
Joe Irvin, NAVCA's Chief Executive, said, "Youth unemployment is a major problem. We have lobbied government on this issue and in particular we asked for the Government to ensure charities are included in plans to help young people. NAVCA is pleased that the Government has listened and Charities are being given the chance to play a constructive role in this scheme. It is important this is implemented in a way that benefits the young people it is intended to help. Involving charities can help make sure this happens."
Visit NAVCA's web pages on the youth contract for links to background information and details of the procurement process.
