Gearing up for the 2018 Season!
Greetings Racers,

The calendar has finally switched over and now we all yearn for the summer's warmer days with cold beer in hand. It also means the Toronto Boat Show is just around the corner and, in my mind, the start to the boating season. Time to assess needs and wants to make your boat go faster; maybe Santa bought you a new sail. There's no better place to lighten your wallet!

While you are the show make sure you stop by the LOOR booth in the Sailfest area for a chat. We are always looking for suggestions to improve your racing experience and value your input.

Your committee has been hard at work during the off-season making sure that your Summer will be filled with action packed racing of the highest calibre. A big thanks to all those dedicated to the cause. Also a big thank you to our title sponsor, Humberview Group's driveHG ,who are back again this year and whose support of offshore racing is, as with all our sponsors, invaluable.

Best regards,

Joe Doris
Chair, Lake Ontario Offshore Racing

Please visit loor.ca for registration details.  When going to loor.ca please note the following very important information:

Loor.ca has been hijacked!

Yes, sad to say the loor.ca domain has been hijacked at search engine listings.  This means if you search for us through Google, Yahoo, Bing, or most other search engines you will see a mixed bag of links for results.  Most of these point to one of a variety of casino websites.

You probably do not want to click on any of those links.

The loor.ca website is itself operating as it should and going there directly will not result in any casino shenanigans.

If you do accidentally click on one of the problem links then going to loor.ca and trying to navigate there will be troublesome as the casino links will still be in your browser cache.  To resolve this you should close then reopen your browser, then clear your history/cache for the last hour (or other applicable time depending on your browser).  After doing that if you go to loor.ca there should be no issue.

We are currently putting together a new website and believe that trouble will not migrate there, but it will take some time to resolve.  Thank you for your patience with this problem.

Running from January 12 to 21, 2018, the Toronto International Boat Show is celebrating its 60th year.  Billed as the largest indoor boat show in North America TIBS is a great way to bring a little summer into this cold winter.

Also at the boat show this year, LOOR's own Brent Hughes will be speaking

Many people say that getting to the start line is 80% of racing.  But, how will you make sure you make it to the FINISH line?

Join Brent in this fun and light-hearted talk as he discusses many of the key aspects of making it around the course, and successfully to the finish line, whether you're sailing Solo, Double Handed, or Fully Crewed.

Brent will be speaking at the Toronto International Boat Show - Salon 107
