THANK YOU to every LaCAN member who took the time to call, email, or visit your Representative over the last several weeks to share about the urgent need for additional NOW slots and funding for DD services. 

Today the House passed various amendments to the state budget that will benefit individuals with developmental disabilities and their families!

Amendments by Representatives Joe Harrison (of Gray), Brett Geymann (of Lake Charles) and Ledricka Thierry (of Opelousas) were passed allocating funding for a total of 225 new NOW slots. The House also passed an amendment by Representative Pat Smith (of Baton Rouge) to restore $55,000 to Families Helping Families Centers.
