Lack Wisdom? 2/26/17
PS-As I went to format today's sermon, I discovered another sermon on PRAYER and included that message at the end of TODAY'S message!!!!

GOD ANSWERS PRAYER!!!!
I sit here this morning-it is 6:25 AM!!!
I ENJOYED a restful night of sleep as little Amanda slept until 5:30 this morning and went right back to sleep after I removed her diaper.
I feel GOOD, (DO DA DO DAD DO/AKA JAMES BROWN), and am looking forward to a peaceful Sunday.
I got car problems! One has a flat tire and needs a replacement tire, the other car/truck has transmission problems.
The flat tire is easily fixed but the transmission problem is scary and possibly EXPENSIVE.
As YOU read this message today, I know you can "feel me."
YOU have "little" problems in YOUR life also.
Truly, it IS "the little foxes that spoil the vines!"

15 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.
I do not need either of these foxes/problems in my life!!!!
So, here I sit, head in hand, wondering/asking/seeking/PRAYING about what to do???

WHERE CAN I GO BUT TO THE LORD?"
A few weeks ago a dear friend was in a similar predicament, wondering/asking/seeking/PRAYING about a home situation in which I IMMEDIATELY broke out in PRAYER with him.
That very day God gave him favor AND the ANSWER!!!
Proverbs 24:6 (KJV)
6 For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.
BEFORE any decision is made, ESPECIALLY major decisions, one MUST seek wise counsel!!!
Get a second and even third opinion!
Matthew 7:7 (KJV)
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
BUT always remember, whatever decision one makes, one must live with its consequences!!!!
It is YOUR life and YOU hold the keys in YOUR hand!
Two nights ago, Amanda got me up at 4:30 AM and as I could not go instantly back to sleep, I AGAIN turned to PRAYER.
Again, there is little else to do at 4:30 AM!!!
SUDDENLY, God spoke a name to me- a name and a person I had not seen or talked to in several years.
I do not remember even seeking God for an answer to my car troubles, but this name/person happens to be a certified mechanic!!!!
I was and am AMAZED at God's providence!!!!
Out of the blue-from nowhere-God PROVIDED wise counsel!!!!

OUR first line of offense and defense MUST be PRAYER!!!!
The bigger the fox/problem, the MORE one must PRAY over it!!!!

Amanda is up and after I "fix" her, I AM GOING TO PRAYER!!!
I NEED GOD TO ANSWER ME AND GIVE ME WISDOM TODAY!!!

I believe it is safe to say that Jesus took it for granted that His children PRAY!!!
He never said, "If ye PRAY," but "WHEN YE PRAY!!!!"
As I spent my appointed time walking the treadmill today, I PRAYED!!
I PRAYED FOR YOU!!
I PRAYED for Forrest Hill, Jr. who is in the hospital and I PRAYED for Louise's brother who is in ICU.
I PRAYED over this sermon as to WHAT to preach on and that it would BLESS you!
I PRAYED for the MANY of you who FAITHFULLY PRAY for me and support this ministry financially!

I try to spend the mornings practicing my music and/or walking the treadmill, but oftentimes to do wander into the living room and catch bits and pieces of the sermons.
This week I caught a bit of Joyce Meyer's message and something she preached has stuck with me.
She said, "WHEN YOU/YE PRAY, PRAY things so outlandishly HUGE that only God could possibly bring to pass!!!
PRAY not for small things and get ALL of your PRAYER ANSWERED!!
PRAY LARGE, IMPOSSIBLE PRAYERS and if God "only" answers in part, we get more than we expected!!!"
Now folks, that dog will hunt!!!!
I BELIEVE IN PRAYER-PRAYER FIRST AND PRAYER LAST!!
NOT using PRAYER as a LAST option, but a FIRST OPTION!!!!

17 Pray without ceasing.
I firmly believe that we need more PRAYER MEETINGS and less Church Services!!!
More PRAYER and less entertainment!!!
A dear friend called me this week and believing I am a PRAYING man, asked me "HOW to PRAY!!!!"
He stated that he wondered HOW anybody could spend an hour or more PRAYING??
How marvelous is it that the disciples never asked Jesus to "TEACH THEM TO" sing or perform, preach, conduct revivals or hold "friend days," or any other religious activity.
Luke 11:1 (KJV)
1 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
They only asked ONE question of our Lord and Savior:
"
LORD, TEACH US TO PRAY, AS JOHN ALSO TAUGHT HIS DISCIPLES."
TODAY, I PRAY that this sermon does for YOU what my friend's question did for me!!
MAKE YOU PRAY MORE AND BIGGER PRAYERS TO BOOT!!!
As an aside, please note that PRAYER is NOT just you talking to God, but LISTENING to God talking to you!!!
