Tony Marino, Mayor of Lake Dallas

The results are in...Lake Dallas residents passed all 3 propositions by a margin of 70% or more in the November 4th election. I appreciate people getting out to the polls and voting on these very important issues. I am confident that these changes will have a positive impact on our city. I am also happy to report that the construction on Lakeview is officially complete and we will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony after the New Year. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and I look forward to seeing you at our Lighting up the Season event on Sat, Dec 6th. From myself and all of the members of City Council, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  -Tony Marino, Mayor of Lake Dallas

Two Steps, One StickerTWOSTEPSTwo Steps, One Sticker

The following information is from your Lake Dallas Municipal Court and provided by Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. As a result of House Bill 2305 passed during the 83rd legislative session, the State of Texas will stop issuing inspection stickers and transition to a "Two Steps, One Sticker" vehicle inspection and registration program. Beginning March 1, 2015, vehicles will no longer be issued an inspection sticker. Your registration sticker will serve as a combined proof of registration and inspection. Why you'll love "Two Steps, One Sticker":

  • One sticker, one date: Are you one of the millions of Texans whose inspection sticker and registration sticker expire in different months? With "Two Steps, One Sticker" you will just have one sticker with one expiration date.
  • Less clutter, better view: Who wants multiple stickers in their view while behind the wheel? With "Two Steps, One Sticker" you will just have the familiar blue-bordered registration sticker in the corner of your windshield.
  • Safer streets, cleaner air: Because a passing vehicle inspection will be a requirement to renew your registration, more Texans will comply with the safety and emissions testing laws. So with "Two Steps, One Sticker" there will be safer and more environmentally-sound cars on the road.
  • Fraud prevention: With inspection stickers no longer needed under "Two Steps, One Sticker," this change will eliminate the risk of inspection sticker fraud and theft.
Please see the Two Steps, One Sticker website for more information, including when to get your inspection.
Lewisville Lake Watershed
SWPPPStormwater Pollution Prevention
Watershed is an area of land that catches stormwater (any precipitation from a storm event including rain, snow, sleet, etc.) and drains or seeps into a water source, eventually making its way to lakes, rivers, and eventually the ocean. Lake Dallas is a 100% watershed community so what we do directly impacts Lewisville Lake. Read these tips on how you can prevent stormwater pollution.

POLICENews from the Police Department
Officer Jared Thompson
On Thursday, November 13, Officer Jared Thompson exhibited quick thinking and actions that saved the life of a 14-year-old special needs child. The situation started when teachers noticed the child was choking. They tried the Heimlich maneuver without success and called 9-1-1. Officer Thompson heard the call over the radio and immediately responded to the room. At this point the child was not breathing and had no pulse so Officer Thompson performed CPR and the Heimlich maneuver several times. The child eventually started responding just as the Fire Department arrived and took over emergency care. The Fire Department, using special instruments, was able to dislodge a large piece of fruit blocking the child's windpipe. The child was transported to the hospital and is reported to be doing fine. We want to extend our most heartfelt thanks to Officer Jared Thompson for his exceptional quick thinking that saved the child's life.
