Dr. Walter Kimbrough to lead Stewardship conference
September 29 - October 1, 2011 "How to Raise All the Money Your Church Needs" In 1974, Dr. Walter Kimbrough was appointed to the Cascade United Methodist Church in Atlanta where his passion and expertise in ministry was desperately needed. At the time, Cascade UMC was a dying congregation of less than 100 members. By the time Dr. Kimbrough retired in 2006, Cascade UMC had become a vibrant congregation of more than 7000 members. The expertise that brought Dr. Kimbrough to Cascade UMC brings him to serve as one of the lead presenters at the "How to Raise All the Money Your Church Needs:" Stewardship in the African-American Church Conference at Lake Junaluska. Through his passion, commitment and wisdom, he has guided churches in learning how to give joyfully and generously. How else do you grow a church from 100 struggling members to over 7000 members strong who make a tremendous difference not only in the lives of the congregation, but in the life of the community of Atlanta and around the world? Dr. Kimbrough will share his insights so that others can take that knowledge to their ministry settings and put it to work to transform congregations where people become excited about giving to the work of Christ and making a difference in their churches and communities.
