Dual Citizenships
Lake Pointe was honor to host Chad Connelly, who serves as the Republican National Committee's National Director of Faith Engagement, Friday afternoon. Mr. Connelly's passion for his job and faith were evident as he spoke on what it means to balance one's Christian and civic duties. Following the presentation, students had the opportunity to ask Mr. Connelly and Mr. Park Gillespie, who worked with Mick Mulvaney when Mulvaney was a SC House Representative, specific questions about politics andChristian civic involvement.
First graders celebrated the Jewish fall festival as they continue to learn about the ancient Jewish people. With the class clothed in the traditional white, guest speaker Marci Coulter taught about the meanings behind the festival's ancient traditions such as eating honey and sounding the shofar.
The LPA cross country team ran in a meet at Gaston Day. Though wet grounds made the course extra challenging, seveteral LPA runners placed in the top ten runners.
Volleyball played a home game against Oakwood Christian. The JV girls played to match three but lost, and the Varsity girls played and one three matches for the victory.
The men's soccer team also played Oakwood at home. The two teams were locked at 3 goals each for most the game; however, for the win, LPA scored two goals in the last part of the game.
