Be In Charge Of Your Lakestone Debit Card
You know that sinking feeling when you can't find your debit card?
Be protected from theft and fraud with the power to turn your debit card on or off with the Lakestone Mobile App. Using the menu in the app, go to preferences, select manage cards, select the debit card you would like to suspend (temporarily turn on or off). Please note there is also an option to report the card lost or stolen. This will permanently disable the card and you will need to contact customer service to order a replacement.
Cyber Security Tip
Did you miss the Cyber Security Lunch & Learn?
In October, Lakestone Bank & Trust hosted a Cyber Security Lunch & Learn. Wes Reynolds, Security Specialist at Netsource One, presented important tips to improve business' cyber security. Reynolds also discussed passwords & multi-factor authentication.

"Don't trust your memory for more than 3 passwords," stated Reynolds. "There are ways to keep all passwords safely encrypted and locked by a key that only you have."

Reynolds suggested using Password Safe or LastPass for safe-keeping your businesses' passwords.
Business Accounts & Beneficial Owners
New Rules under the Bank Secrecy Act
Effective May 11, 2018, all financial institutions will follow new rules under the Bank Secrecy Act. These changes will aid the government in the fight against crimes to evade financial measures designed to combat terrorism and other national security threats.

Each time an account is opened for a covered legal entity, we are required to ask you for identifying information (name, address, date of birth, social security number as well as identification documents) for:
  • Each individual that has beneficial ownership (25% or more); and,
  • One individual that has significant managerial control of the legal entity.
If you are opening an account on behalf of a legal entity, you will be required to provide the appropriate documentation and to certify that this information is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge.
