PRINCIPAL'S CORNER

Dear Lakeview Families,

Lakeview would not run without your service as volunteers in the classroom and at school events. Just this week we had close to 200 students in 2nd and 3rd grade off campus on a field trip. An outing like that takes many volunteers and parent chaperones to make sure our students have a safe, positive experience. Additionally, we had vision and hearing screening this week, and over 15 volunteers signed up to make sure that ran smoothly for all 558 of our students. Thank you to all of you who volunteer, and thank you to our PTSA for their work in encouraging and coordinating our volunteers.

As we enter this Thanksgiving season we are grateful every day for the opportunity of teaching your students. Their joy and kindness is contagious and we are thankful we get to work with the most important people in the world every day.

Thanks,

Steve

Winter Wishes

Winter Wishes, a Lakeview tradition, allows the community to show they care by helping Lakeview families share in the joy of gift giving and receiving during the holiday season. Rhonda Nelson, our school counselor, confidentially facilitates gathering the wishes from our Winter Wishes families and delivering the gifts to them. Lakeview students, with their parents then select one or more of these and fulfill them for these families.

Beginning on Monday November 21st and continuing through Wednesday December 7th, gift tags will be available for pick up both before and after school in the front office.

If you are unable to come with your child, you may fill out a form giving them permission to select an item. You can also purchase items online on the Lakeview Elementary Winter Wishes Amazon wish list.

Bring all items unwrapped to school office on or before December 8th. (They are donated to a local charity after this date). We will also have a collection area at the Lakeview Multi-cultural night. Please return all gifts with their original Winter Wishes tag attached with the family number and gift number.
