PRINCIPAL'S CORNER

Dear Lakeview Families,

We are seeing an increase in absences due to illness. Every school day is vital, and as educators we want all of our students in class every day. If a student is not showing symptoms of being contagious and is feeling well enough to participate in class we hope you will send them, even if it requires some nudging and and encouragement that they can make it through the day not feeling 100%. On the other hand, if they are showing contagious symptoms or are feeling so crummy that the chances of participation are quite low (persistent crying, extreme tiredness, etc.), it would probably be best for them to stay home.

Click here  for the LWSD "Too Sick For School?" webpage.
We sympathize with the difficulty of making these decisions as a family and know that choice is often being made in the midst of a busy morning. We are a team in this effort 1) to keep school a safe place by keeping contagious students and staff home while they heal and 2) to encourage students who are not contagious and can participate, even if they are not feeling 100%, to attend school each day.

Thanks

Steve

Wanted: Class Photographers

Do you like to take pictures and have a child in the following classes?
  • Lapointe (K)
  • Friend (4)
  • Edwards (5)
We need class photographers for these classes!  The requirements are easy: take 20-30 photos of the students in your child's class. A class without a photographer means a class without a candid photos page in the yearbook. Halloween parties are an excellent time to snap photos for the yearbook!

If you would like to sign up or if you have any questions contact  lakptsayearbook@gmail.com.
