Issue #111  April 14, 2017
Principal's Corner

Dear Lakeview Families,

There are so many great events coming up between now and the end of the school year, I hope you have them marked down on your calendar and plan to attend! Tonight is family dance night; I hope to see you there ready to dance with your kiddos and mingle with the Lakeview community. Starting next week our kiddos have the option to run the marathon during lunch recess, racking up laps and adding to their marathon necklaces. Later in April we have the art walk, followed by the school play in May, the start of SBA testing, field trips and field day. Make sure you check  Tandem calendar regularly!  We hope you and your kiddos are able to participate in one way or another in all of these great events.

Thanks - Steve

Help Wanted:
Staff Appreciation Week

Staff Appreciation Week is almost here; it is May 8-12!  Let's show the staff at Lakeview how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication by making this an extra special week.  We need help from everyone!
Here's how you can help:

  • Donate an item for the daily staff raffle.  The more items we have the better!  We are looking for "auction" type items:  gift baskets, gift cards, tickets to sporting events, weekend at your vacation house, etc...  (no alcohol please).  Even small items can be put together with other items!  Please contact Jennifer Wilson if you are able to donate.
  • Donate a home cooked item for our Staff Breakfast on Wednesday, May 10th.  Click here to sign up.  Items can be dropped off at the school as early as 7:00am; staff usually starts arriving around 8:00am.
  • "Adopt" a staff member.  This is for our hard working non-classroom teachers who support the whole school.  Write them a thank you note, leave a candy bar in their box, drop off a $5 Starbucks card.  This does not need to be a big gesture; we just want them to feel appreciated too.  Sign up here.
Questions?  Contact Jennifer Wilson

Thank you for your help!
