Hello Lakeview Families,
It is wonderful to have your student back at Lakeview! Watching our 1st-5th grade students arrive with such big smiles on their faces was exciting. We are looking forward to welcoming our newest Leopards, our kindergarteners, on Friday. Your children did a fantastic job adjusting to new teachers and new classmates. The school year is off to a great start!
Our teachers and staff have worked tirelessly to prep for the year, including curriculum night early on so Lakeview families had a chance to connect with their children's classroom teacher before the start of the year. I am impressed, but not surprised, by the caliber of educators working at Lakeview.
I hope you will keep the Sept 15th school
Ice Cream Social on your calendars. It will be a terrific way for us to connect as a school community.
Thank you for sharing your children with us everyday, it is a great trust and responsibility.

Ice Cream Social Thursday, 9/15
Please come to the Lakeview PTSA Back-to-School Ice Cream Social on
Thursday, September 15th, from 6:30-7:30, on the school playground. The whole family is invited!
Ice cream sundaes will be sold for $3, cash or check (sorry no meal cards).
After School Enrichment Vendors will also be there to present their programs. The event will happen rain or shine, and we hope to see lots of you there!

Lakeview Spiritwear On Sale Now!
The Lakeview Elementary School Spiritwear Sale is going on now! This year you have two ways to order:
1. Fill out and send in the paper order form that will be sent home with your child on
Tuesday September 6th
Please let family or friends you think would like to help support Lakeview Elementary know how they can purchase Lakeview Spiritwear and show their Leopard Spirit. The sale will only be open for two weeks so don't wait, order today! Once the sale ends, it's over and you will not be able to order again this year.

After School Snack Program
Programa de Merienda después de la escuela
An after school snack is available to any students on free/reduced lunch. Snacks are available outside
Ms. Ferries' and Mrs. Green's classrooms
at 3:30, Monday-Friday (and 2:00 on Wednesdays).
Una merienda después del dia escolar está disponible para cualquier estudiante que tiene almuerzo gratis o reducido.
Snacks están disponibles fuera de la clase de Sra. Ferries y de la Sra. Green a las 3:30, de lunes a viernes (2:00 el miércoles).

Fall Enrichment Classes Enrolling Now
After School Enrichment classes are back at Lakeview! Fliers with more information are coming home today, Friday, Sept. 9th. Enrollment starts Monday, Sept. 12th, at noon and is first come first serve. More information available on the
Lakeview PTSA website!
The PTSA is excited to offer the following courses this fall. Our goal is to make a difference for all our kids. However, we can't do it alone - It takes a village - this is why we encourage you to volunteer to chaperone a class!
Fall Session:
8 weeks Monday, September 26, 2016 - Friday, December 2, 2016. No classes the week of October 17 and November 21.
Enrollment Period: Monday, September 12, 2016 @ noon to Sunday, September 18 @ midnight (late registrations will NOT be accepted)
Registration is on-line at
SIGN UP GENIUS. Please note that you need to complete a separate Sign-Up Genius form for
each child enrolled in a class.
Scholarships are available for all PTSA enrichment activities. For scholarship consideration, please contact the enrichment team at

Volunteers are needed Thursday 9/15 to help with School Picture Day. Those volunteering will receive a
free photo package! There are two 3-hour shifts:
9:00 AM-12:00 PM
and
12:00 PM-3:00 PM
