in King Farm, Rockville, Maryland
where Mattie's Foundation will be
"guest host and bartender"
and the restaurant will be donating 
a portion of all sales from the event
to support Mattie's Foundation.


We are currently planning the details... 
the hours... the "signature drinks"... the cake... 
and other event details.

or a kid's "peace punch" drink)

UPDATE FROM MATTIE'S MOM

Hello friends!

Thank you, all, for so many 
prayers and messages of support.
Although "ongoing medical challenges"
will inevitably be a part of my daily existence,
I can say that I am not only "surviving" 
-- I am also "thriving" -- despite challenges.

The latest "medical update" is that I am the proud
 new owner of a dual chamber cardiac pacemaker, 
that seems to be doing its rhythmic job quite nicely.

The latest "mission update" is that I am a proud
"Mama Peace" to 30 new Global Teen Leaders
from six continents who gathered for a week
 for the  2017 Just Peace Summit in NYC.  

Other Foundation-related activities include:
  • Honoring Nelson Mandela with the 2017 WAFF Mattie J.T. Stepanek Peacemaker Award, 
  • Offering the eulogy and celebrating the life of Greenburgh, NY firefighter -- Robert "Bubba Bert" Mentrasti --  dear friend to Mattie and me for decades,
  • Working with schools, youth groups, retirement groups, spiritual groups, businesses, our Pathways to Peace program participants and others on their personal and community peace journeys, 
  • Working with a journalist from Washingtonian Magazine on a summer feature article that will highlight Mattie's Foundation and our Peace Day endeavor, and
  • Working with the City of Rockville, the King Farm community, and local restaurant manager to plan an amazing celebration of Mattie's life and legacy this summer -- as we "Make Peace the News!"
