ORMHOF ON THE ROAD
4 Wheel Parts Reno Customer Appreciation Day
at Wild West Motorsports Park
Rigs of all shapes and sizes took advantage of a beautiful Spring weekend to test their skills at Wild West Motorsports Park outside of Reno, Nevada. The track is home to the Lucas Off Road Racing Series and the Ultra4 Racing National Championship. Thanks to Wild West manager Eric Pender for a great weekend.

CRAWL Magazine's John Herrick in new Trent Fab LandCRAWLer, featuring a rear storage compartment with an ARB 12v fridge.

One of the highlights of the weekend was watching 7-Year old Dylan Trent, son of Derek and Lisa Trent from Trent Fabrication. Dylan made good use of the open track, clocking faster and faster lap times in his Trent Fab number 'Trenty Two'.

Special thanks to all of the track officials and safety crew who volunteered their time, including ORMHOF administrator Barbara Rainey's husband, David.  The Raineys and their 1970 CJ6 have been volunteering and doing recovery for Ultra4 Racing, WE Rock, CalROCs, SuperCrawl, and other events around the Western US for over a decade.

David is always watching the action on the track, to help keep the racers safe.

PARTING SHOT
"The Wedge"
You're looking at a  1953 Chevy ½ ton pick-up frame, including the straight axle/leaf spring front-suspension. The wheelbase was short at 78 inches. Power was a 1962 283ci Corvette engine with some performance improvements. A 1958 Chevy 2-speed automatic transferred power to a solid mounted '58 Chevy rear-axle stuffed with a 5.38:1 ring-and-pinon gear set. Special thanks to the Facebook group Old School Dune Buggies and Sand Rails for this one!  Read the whole story here.
