The U.S. Senate just took its first vote toward repealing the Affordable Care Act.
U.S. Senate voted 51-48 in the early morning hours of January 12 to pass the budget resolution that includes impacts to the ACA. If you are curious about how Missouri senators voted, Senator Blunt voted in favor of the budget resolution and Senator McCaskill voted against.
What happens next? The resolution now goes to the U.S. House, which will vote on it as early as Friday, January 13th. This will officially kick off the
budget reconciliation process. House committees will write the actual language to repeal the ACA, which will return to the House and then the Senate for final votes. If they pass the legislation, it will go to President Trump for his signature.
