Semana Santa Food Basket reminder!

Last chance for Semana Santa Food Baskets!
Family in Family Aif Program

If you would like to give your sponsored student, an elderly person, a child or family in need, a wonderful basket of food for Semana Santa.....now is the time to do it. We can take donations until Tuesday morning 9:00 A.M. April 19th, P.S.T. 

We will be distributing the baskets on Wednesday and the photos will be in our Picassa Web Album on Friday.

If you would like to give this gift in honor of someone ....please let us know and we will be happy to send them an email and put it on our website in the IN HONOR section.

Sponsored Student 

Each basket costs $35 US and will feed approx. 10-12 people. 

The basket contains:

-Traditional fragrant sweetbreads

-A block of drinking chocolate (It is traditional to have the sweet bread with hot chocolate)

-A chicken

-Squash

-Carrots

-Incaparina - a fortified cereal

-Sugar

-Bananas

 

These items (some of which might be substituted depending on availability) will come in a large, reusable plastic basket that has many uses in a Guatemalan household. Please consider giving a food basket to a hungry family to share for Semana Santa. 

If you would like to help Mayan Families gain more support, please consider forwarding this e-mail to your friends, family, and colleagues. You can do a Facebook or Twitter posting, put up posters, shout from mountain tops -- get creative! Spreading the word is free, and lets the world know you think Mayan Families is doing a good job and deserves their support.
