Lots of model news for you this week:

 

We were expecting the initial shipment of the M-106 Bugatti Type 57SC Corsica this month but in a surprise announcement, we were just informed of a second version of the Corsica, which will actually arrive ahead of the original.

 

In fact, we'll have a few in our hot little hands next week!

 

The exterior of this version of the Bugatti Type 57C Corsica is identical to the previously announced M-106 but is fitted with a faux-crocodile leather interior that matches the car as it currently exists. Now owned by Mr. John Mozart, this car took the 'Best of Show' award at the 1998 Pebble Beach Concours. Production will be limited to 3,000 pieces, the first of which have been air freighted to the US for late April distribution. The balance of the Edition, along with the original M-106 version, with a plain leather interior, is expected to arrive in the US in June. We have just a few pieces available from the air shipment. List price has been set at $478.00, but we are offering a 10% discount to TMC customers.

The Spark Model shipment we told you about last time is (finally) due to arrive on Monday. Many of the pieces are pre-sold out but you can still reserve one of the two 1/43 scale Indianapolis 500 winners (Donohue 1972 and Rutherford 1980) or the first McLaren Group 7 car, the McLaren M1A Oldsmobile, as driven to a second place finish by Bruce McLaren at Nassau in 1964, pictured above.

We've also listed more than 30 new 1/43 scale pre-order items from Spark on our Online Shopping website. A few highlights are pictured above. No firm eta on any of these for now, but several were originally announced between 2 and 4 years ago, so they may actually be very close to production. 

 

Please be advised, US dealers are still experiencing shortages on many new releases from Spark, so advance orders (before May 5) for models on this list are strongly recommended. You will notice that we did not set prices for these models as yet. Current SRP for new release 1/43 Spark models is $80.00. We do not expect that to change for the rest of the year. After that, keep your fingers crossed!

Last but not least, I uploaded our 2014 'Road Show' Schedule to the website this afternoon. We will be at the Inaugural Brickyard Vintage Racing Invitational at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in June and for the 25th straight year, we'll have a display at the 'Day before the 500' show, also at the Speedway, May 24.  We have committed to two events at Road America so far and hope to be at Meadowdale again this year.
