CAREER OPPORTUNITY
The Mining Journal

EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Northstar Employee Assistance Program

90% of your problems are caused by 10% of your employees.
They are the employee that walks into your office, or you call into your office, and they have a personal issue you can't fix. You listen and think about how you can help, but you are not a trained professional counselor. Maybe you end up just ignoring the issue, avoiding the employee or maybe even deciding to let the employee go. How do your actions look to other employees?

If you have an EAP, you can refer this troubled employee to a trained professional counselor who can help him or her, and get that employee working again in a productive manner. Having access to an EAP program is a great management tool in that it gives management an option for helping a troubled employee deal with a personal issue.
  • They have 30 counselors in 15 locations throughout the U.P. ready to help your employees stay happy, healthy and productive.
  • Northstar EAP is a confidential service for employees that need counseling or assistance for themselves or household members in dealing with life's issues.
  • EAP programs are shown to provide an economic return to the employer, enhance morale and foster good employee relations.
  • They pride themselves in providing local, professional counselors with a unique sensitivity to how they approach each client's issues.
  • Offices are located throughout the Upper Peninsula and provide employees with friendly, professional service close to home.
  • They have many areas of expertise in dealing with life's issues: Family/Child, Marital, Anxiety, Addiction, Workplace, Grief and Stress.
Your employees are your most critical investment. NEAP wants to help support and grow that investment.

JERZIS 41 HOLIDAY FUND
Jerzis 41 Sports Bar & Grill

Jerzis 41 is reaching out to the community with a Holiday request.

Their goal for 2017 is to help 4 local families that are less fortunate. The Jerzis 41 Holiday Fund is created to help those in need within the community. With your support, there are many ways to give back to those in need. Food, clothing, and monetary donations can make a world of difference to a family, or to a single parent trying to raise their children.

Jerzis will 'adopt' 4 local families and help give them a memorable Holiday season. Each family will receive a catered dinner with all the fixings for Thanksgiving. For Christmas, a "Giving Tree" will be put up for community members to donate specific items for each family's needs, as well as a Holiday dinner.

Please feel free to stop in to 9965 US Hwy 41, Champion, MI, 49814 to choose an ornament starting the week of November 17th. If you would like to make a monetary donation, please mail checks or talk to a server. Checks can be made out to "Jerzis 41" and cash is accepted as well.
