PV Takes Part in Benefit for Jersey Shore
|
PV recently contributed their talents to a very successful benefit, The Concert to Save the Jersey Shore One Town At A Time, which took place on Sunday, February 3, at Rumson Fair Haven High School in Rumson, New Jersey.
Over $5000 was raised through this event that will go directly to families in need at the Jersey Shore. The concert also included members of the Monmouth Winds, Cabaret artist Siobhan Kolker, opera star Richard Hobson, oboist Sarah Davol and conductor/ clarinetist Roy Gussman. PV performed audience favorites, John Lampkin's George Washington Slept Here! (commissioned by them in 2004) and Simple Gifts (trans. Bill Holcombe), to rousing applause. The members of PV agreed, "We were pleased and honored to be invited to be a part of the Sandy relief concert and thoroughly enjoyed playing with the wonderful Monmouth Symphony players."
In the photo (l-r) Richard Sachs, Roy Gussman, Ron Levy, Margaret Swinchoski, Donald Mokrynski, Siobhan Kolker, Jenny Kline, Sarah Davol, and Linda Balavram.
