GOVERNOR SIGNS MEDICAID EXPANSION BILL AT MCHC
Manchester Community Health Center was honored to host Governor Christopher Sununu on June 29th for the signing into law of SB 313, the New Hampshire Medicaid expansion bill. This important bill reauthorizes Medicaid expansion benefits to over 50,000 Granite Staters through 2023.

The Governor was joined by state Senator Jeb Bradley, Health and Human Services Commissioner Jeff Meyers, MCHC's CEO/President Kris McCracken, and more than 50 state legislators, health care advocates, and supporters.

Following the signing of the bill, the Governor toured MCHC's Hollis street facility. As Manchester's only federally qualified health center, 45% of our patients rely on Medicaid expansion to access quality, affordable health care.
DR. LISA DIBRIGIDA RAPPELLS 300-FT FOR MCHC
On June 29, Dr. Lisa DiBrigida, the Associate Medical Director of pediatrics at Child Health Services at MCHC, successfully rappelled 24-stories down the Brady Sullivan building on Elm Street, as part of the Over The Edge Challenge hosted by the United Way of Greater Nashua and Granite United Way.

A team of supporters from MCHC, as well as Dr. DiBrigida's friends and family, were standing below to cheer her on!
Through this fundraiser, Dr. DiBrigida was able to raise over $2,700 for MCHC!

We appreciate Dr. DiBrigida's bravery and tireless advocacy efforts for the children and families of Greater Manchester.
MCHC PROVIDERS ATTEND ACE TRAINING
Many of MCHC's pediatric providers recently participated in a workshop on adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). The conference, hosted by Spark NH , HNH Foundation , The Endowment for Health and Project Launch NH, highlighted the negative impact that ACEs can have on a child's development and outlined techniques to spot the effects of adverse experiences in children, and provide treatment and referrals accordingly.
SUPPORT MCHC WITH A HANNAFORD FRESH COOKBOOK
MCHC is excited to announce that we have been selected as the recipient of the Hannaford Supermarkets, fresh Cookbook fundraiser.

Throughout July and August , for every fresh Cookbook purchased at the Hannaford on 79 Bicentennial Drive , MCHC will receive a $5 donation !

The money raised will support the critical work of providing quality healthcare and wrap around services to families in need throughout Manchester.
Each fresh Cookbook includes over $15 in valuable coupons for products you can find at your local Hannaford Supermarket.

This is a great opportunity to show your support for MCHC and try some new summer recipes! And remember to spread the word – the more fresh Cookbooks purchased, the bigger donation MCHC receives.
A SPLASH OF COLOR AT CHILD HEALTH SERVICES AT MCHC
The back exterior of Child Health Services at MCHC is getting a cheerful makeover.

Local artist, Senada Kustura, is designing a bright, kid-friendly mural to put a smile on the faces of our youngest patients. With the help of friends, Kustura is working to create a mural that welcomes patients who park in the back lot of our building on Elm Street and directs them to the main entrance.

"The inspiration has been to create a mural that is functional, welcoming, and loosely based on childhood fairy tales," said Kustura. " As I continue to work on the mural I can see the joy and intrigue it is bringing to passersby, staff, and patients."

Kustura, a Manchester resident, who is currently an advertising student at Savannah College of Art & Design, was eager to work on the mural.

"As a student, this has been an exciting and rewarding summer project," said Kustura.

The new mural is set to be completed soon. Follow MCHC on facebook and twitter to be the first to see the finished mural!
