Pit Bulls on Parade
Sunday, March 6th
11am-1pm
You and your pit bull can participate in our monthly walks in Baltimore City!
The goal of Pit Bulls on Parade is to introduce people to real pit bulls and their people thereby reducing the stereotype and myths that surround our dogs. The parading dog may draw attention if dressed up in silly collars or coats in winter, but most of all they should be sound dogs that love attention from people.

Dear B-More Dog Supporter,
Earlier this month we launched our monthly Pit Bulls on Parade walk in downtown Baltimore. We couldn't have asked for better weather in February, sunny and clear, as we strolled along the waterfront promenade with 21 dogs, the majority being pit bulls or pit mixes. A group of dedicated BARCS volunteers joined us with 3 homeless dogs from the shelter; at least one of those dogs has since been adopted!
It was great to meet so many breed advocates and wonderful dogs. Everyone had a great time introducing their friendly pit bull to anyone who was interested in chatting. It was a very positive experience for all. Check out our Facebook page for photos.
If you'd like to learn more about our organization, please consider attending our next meeting this Sunday, February 27th [click here for details], or download our Membership Form to join today.
Thanks for all you do to make life better for pit bulls!
Sincerely,
Pauline Houliaras
President, B-More Dog

by Pauline Houliaras My dog Ruby received a wonderful honor this year, becoming the first pit bull to pass the Karma Dogs' evaluation in the organization's 5-year history. Ruby started out as just another stray pit bull in the city, neglected and abandoned by her owners. Even with multiple scars on her face everyone says she is a beautiful dog. She responded very well to obedience training, the smooch command being her favorite. Kelly Gould, President & Founder states: "Karma Dogs is so happy to finally have a breed ambassador for the Pit Bull in Karma Dogs. They are such amazing, loving and loyal dogs that get such bad press. From the second we met Ruby, and her owner, Pauline, we knew they had to be a part of our organization. I dare anyone to meet Ruby and not have their spirits lifted immediately. She radiates happiness." She seems naturally suited to therapy dog work, eagerly greeting everyone with a wagging tail and unlimited supply of kisses. It's fitting that Ruby's first "gig" as a Karma Dog is to swear in children as they read the Oath of Kindness Pledge. The program was established after the senseless death of Phoenix, a pit bull puppy severely abused by adolescents in Baltimore. Here's how it works: A Karma Dog swears in children as they recite the oath. Then each child receives a certificate showing their pledge to be kind to animals, pawtographed by the dog. Karma Dogs is unique therapy dog program; primarily rescued dogs given a second chance and now, with the help of their owners, help others by serving people and saving other dogs. Love pit bulls and motorcycles? This annual fundraiser is the brainchild of Michelle Serocki, President of Brew City Bully Club and End Dogfighting in Milwaukee. B-More Dog hopes to get a crew together for a future ride up to Milwaukee.
