Saints and Souls Mass - November 1
A flyer was sent home today regarding the Saints and Souls Mass celebration. It includes information on dressing our students as “Saints” of the Church, as well as, specific guidelines for costuming the children and directions for bringing them to the Church foyer at 7:30 am that Wednesday morning to line up for the procession.
Each student MUST have a name tag identifying the name of the saint and the student's homeroom to allow us to locate them on the proper side of the Church for the procession.
After Mass, costumed children must change into their school uniforms and be returned back to school with the help of parents or a designated adult provided by the families.
Please see and read all the information on the Saints and Souls Mass and The Book of Life flyer. For questions, please call David Planche at 751-5867.

From the Office of Child Protection:
Parents,
I
n order to volunteer at MBS School, the school child protection process must be completed. This includes four parts-a completed volunteer application, certificate of completion of online training, signatory page from the Code of Ethics, and a fingerprint background check.
Please note that if you have been deemed compliant with the Parish for scouts, sports (grades k-4), etc. you are
NOT
compliant with the school child protection process until you have completed the fingerprint background check. The fingerprint background check is an extra step required to volunteer in a school. The paperwork for the fingerprint background check is available through my office.
If you have any questions concerning your compliance, please contact Beverly Peterson at
bpeterson@mbsbr.org
or at
225-753-5526
. Thank you for your cooperation with this matter.
Parents, please do not go to the state police to be fingerprinted without the necessary paperwork to have the proper background check run.

Service Ministry - Thank You!
We want to thank 7th grade for the Great Tuna Challenge to support the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. We will not know our total tuna weight until next week and then will set up an event at the Food Bank and with representatives of the two schools to award the Tuna Trophy. Well done...7th grade and ALL those students, families and staff who made this new project possible.
Our 8th graders made some delicious goodies to benefit their ministry site St. Anthony Home. We appreciate the support of our students for making the cookies and providing such nice treats to the students. Eighth Grade will continue making goodies to send to the residents. Mrs. Manson and Mrs. Berry will be working that out with their students in the near future.
Cultivating Kindness takes on many forms in our school and we know it is through the generosity of our parents that we are so successful. Thank you for helping our students understand the importance of caring for all of God’s family...most especially those who live on the fringes of society and do not have the basic comforts that we often take for granted.
