A Message from Mrs. Gioe
This past week was Teacher Appreciation Week at MBS. I
’
d like to thank everyone for making this week so special for our faculty and staff. You have outdone yourself. Your generosity has been overwhelming! I
’
d also like to take this opportunity to thank our teachers too.
When God Created Teachers
He gave us special friends
To help us understand His world
And truly comprehend
The beauty and the wonder
Of everything we see,
And become a better person
With every discovery.
When God created teachers
He gave us special guides
To show us ways in which we grow
So we can all decide
How to live and how to do
What
’
s right instead of wrong,
To lead us so that we can lead
And learn how to be strong.
Why God created teachers
In His Wisdom and His grace,
Was to help us learn to make our world
A better, wiser place.
Thanks for everything you do!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!
May is dedicated to Mary, the Blessed Mother of Jesus and our spiritual Mother. With the help of Deacon Don as our presider, we celebrated our annual May Crowning. Our 2nd graders and 8th grader Abby Arledge, placed roses at the feet of Mary and crowned her as Queen of Heaven and Earth.
The flowers that our students brought today have been set up in the Church along with Our Lady and the flower shrine. This will remain in place until
next Thursday
.
As part of the celebration, Kindergarten had their Moms present for Muffins for Moms. We are happy they could be with us.
Deacon Don blessed our 8th graders, as this was their final celebration with our school. Our prayers continue for them as they move toward exams and graduation. We are very proud of how this class has served our school this year.
The Jill Peno annual scholarship was awarded to 7th grader Caroline Adolph. Caroline exemplifies her Christian spirit in all that she does and we are pleased to recognize her in memory of our former student, Jill Peno for whom the scholarship was named, after she passed away in her 8th grade year in 1994.
We are grateful for the many parents who came out in the rain to be part of these important celebrations today.

Vacation Bible School Announcement
Dear MBS Parish Families,
After much consideration,
the decision has been made to cancel Vacation Bible School for 2017
.
The reasons for this cancellation are the construction that will be taking place this summer on the school campus, as well as the fact that many of our VBS Volunteer Staff and families are still in the process of rebuilding their homes from last year's flooding.
In preparation for VBS in 2018
, a committee will be formed to look at possible new formats that would enhance the VBS experience for our parish families.
If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Christian Formation at
751-5867
.
