A Message From Cheri Gioe
Star Light
Start Bright
First Star I See Tonight
I Wish I May
I Wish I Might
Have the Wish I Wish Tonight!
As a small child, my parents would lead my sister and me to our bedroom window, right before bedtime each night. We’d peer out the window looking for the brightest star, point it out and together say this sweet poem. Then we’d share our wishes with our parents. Often times they’d respond with, “That is a great wish and it might come true, some day.”
Looking back, I cannot remember one thing that I wished for. However, I do remember that special time with my sister and parents and their simple response affirmed that they’d heard us and that our wishes were important. May I challenge you this week to set some time aside to explore your child’s wishes with them? Sometimes their wishes are not our wishes, but I can guarantee you that time spent making wishes will be well spent and may leave a lasting impression!
In Christ,
Cheri Gioe

Service Hours - Time & Talent Card
Please remember to turn in your pink Time and Talent Card when you have completed your 30 mandatory service hours. Service hours can be completed for MBS Church or School. Just a reminder that your service helps to defray the true cost of school tuition. Failure to complete these hours may result in being charged the out-of-parish tuition rate.
More information can be found on Page 3 in the Parent/Teacher Handbook under Parent’s Commitment to Church and School.
The deadline to have hours turned in is March 1, 2017 .

From the Office of Child Protection
Parent notices have been going out for the past year concerning the Diocesan requirement of volunteers/employees to update their training and/or code of ethics. In January the Diocese is going to do a system sweep of all volunteers/employees who have not completed the required updates. When this is done, if you are one of the volunteers/employees who have not completed the required updates, you will be non-compliant to volunteer/work at our School or Parish.
Please note that this requirement of updating the training and code of ethics is mandated by Louisiana law.
