A Lenten Prayer
Dear Lord,
I know You receive what is in my heart. Let me be inspired by Your words and by the actions of Your son, Jesus. Guide me to make sacrifices this Lent in the spirit of self-denial and with greater attention to You and to those around me. Help me to believe that You will grant me this because of the sacrifice Jesus made for me.
Amen

Baton Rouge Food Bank Collection - March 13-20
Feeding the hungry is one of the Corporal works of Mercy. Our 7th grade will sponsor the Lenten Food Drive to support the Greater Baton Rouge Good Bank. The collection of Peanut Butter for the "A" classes and Jelly for the "B" classes starts
Monday, March 13
and runs through
Tuesday, March 20
.
Our 7th Graders will visit and stock shelves at the Food Bank as a part of their annual Retreat. Food Bank Director, Mike Manning, is opening up the facility to teach our students about their ministry site and will use their help to sort and stock the shelves while they are there.
Please be generous with the PB&J Collection. The 7th graders will accept any non-expired food cans that families would like to contribute because the recent flooding has contributed to the need for additional food to feed the hungry in this region.

W
hile we would hope that our families will allow the school to offer these lessons to their children, the Diocese offers families the ability to OPT OUT of these lessons. If you do not wish your child(ren) to participate in the circles of Care lessons, a signed Opt Out form is REQUIRED.
T
he OPT OUT form may be found on the MBS School website under the Parents tab. Opt out forms must be returned to Mrs. Beverly Peterson in the MBS Office of Christian Formation by Monday March 27, 2017.
F
amilies may view the entire Circles of Care curriculum on the Office of Child and Youth Protection website. Each grade, K-12, has a specific lesson to cover and it will be necessary for parents to locate and review their child’s specific grade lesson.
F
amilies may access and review the lessons to make an informed choice. The Circles of Care lesson link is located on the Diocese of Baton Rouge website at the Office of Child Protection link at diobr.org. Look for the Circles of Care Curriculum link for grades K-12 to locate your child’s lesson.
