Update from Ethiopia
Our Girls' Education Project is as busy as ever! To give you a taste:

We have identified the first girls to receive bursaries. This will help them with extra costs like uniform and textbooks, and they will receive funds as long as they attend school.

We've now established the crucial tutorial programme - helping girls with extra study and support to ensure they don't drop out.

Read our blog for the full story on how we supplied tablet computers to rural Ethiopia so government staff can collect data and monitor the project. Training has already been held for all involved.

We are still working on getting everything in place to build our first new secondary school - the plot has been selected and now we are finalising details.
The Link team grows
We're thrilled to welcome several new members to the Link team this quarter.

In Edinburgh we're joined by Chris Martin who, as our Knowledge and Impact Manager, will help us to track our successes and determine how we can be as effective as possible for the communities we help.

In Uganda, new funding from The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation has allowed us to expand our programmes and we are joined by four new members of staff! They will be led by our new Country Director, Josephine Akiru.

Fresh from the field
We've been undertaking our School Performance Review process across all of our partner countries, and have had lots of meetings in the community to share results.

These community meetings are a really important chance for the whole community to come together and understand how well their school is performing. This means that parents can hold the school, teachers and government accountable for any issues. It's also a chance for the school to address any potential issues at home, such as encouraging parents to send their children to school instead of giving them domestic chores.

It's really encouraging to see how everyone pulls together to give every single pupil the best shot at a great education!
