La Movida hosts the official Mexican Independence Day celebration with Viva México Festival! For over 15 years, the Latino community has made this festival the premiere event in Madison. The day starts with a car parade, reading of the proclamation, time honored El Grito, and this year, they are proud to welcome the Mexican Consulate to the event!  Entertainment includes traditional Folkloric dancers, bands, contests, crowning of Miss Viva México and more!  More info

The 4th Annual Team Hidalgo/Warner Memorial Golf Outing was held on Friday July 22, 2016 at the Western Lakes Golf Club in Pewaukee. 148 registered golfers and 210 diners participated in the day's events, which included an 18-hole scramble, dinner, raffle, silent and live auction.  The $43,000 raised will benefit the Fisher House Wisconsin, Daren M. Hidalgo Memorial Fund, and Richard D. Warner Memorial Fund. " It was a great success as we honored and celebrated the lives of Army 1st Lieutenant Daren Hidalgo and Marine Lance Corporal Richard Warner," said Jorge Hidalgo, GM and principal partner, Wilde East Towne Honda.  The Fisher House of Wisconsin's mission is to provide a "home away from home" for military and veterans' families to be close to a loved one during hospitalization.

Overture Center Announces Fall Exhibitions Including Winner of 2015 Latino Art Fair

This week the Overture Center announced the Fall Exhibition schedule for its Galleries, including Leticia Castillo, 2015 winner of the Latino Art Fair. Latino Art Fair on Friday, October 7th from 5:00 - 9:00pm - Organized by the Latino Chamber of Commerce and hosted by Overture, the Latino Art Fair celebrates the richness of the Latino culture in Dane County. Artists will exhibit and sell their work.
