Le Francais Chefs Reunited

for Adopt-A-Pet Fundraiser

In Honor of Jean Banchet

Dear friends,

Chef Michael Lachowicz will host a Le Francais Guest Chef Dinner at Restaurant Michael, Thursday, April 3, 2014 beginning at 6:30pm. This dinner is, of course, to honor a pioneer of fine dining in the Chicagoland area.

Chef Jean Banchet presided over a restaurant that was considered one of the best in the world in the late 1970's. In fact, Bon Appetit magazine voted it the best restaurant in America in 1980.

Our Chef, Michael Lachowicz, worked under both Banchet and Le Francais' second Chef Roland Liccioni.

Chef Roland Liccioni, who subsequently owned and operated Le Francais for 10 years and Chef Patrick Chabert who was Chef de Cuisine under both Banchet and Liccioni will be preparing iconic Banchet recipes to honor this culinary legend who passed away last November.

Daniel Gutierrez (who as you know still works with us) and Roberto Serrano, 25 year veterans of the Le Francais, will both be joining us to work under GM Marcello Cancelli and his team for the evening.

Marcello is also pairing special wines with most courses. The full menu is below.

The cost is $149.00 per person exclusive of tax and gratuity.

Ten percent of the evening's gross proceeds will be donated to Adopt-A-Pet in the name of Doris & Jean Banchet, both of whom were known for their love for animals.

This should be a wonderful night of exceptional food and remembrance. Not too be missed, especially for those who still remember a great restaurant and its indelible mark on the culinary world. The menu is below.

"I spoke with Doris Banchet yesterday and she was very much in favor of the idea and is behind our efforts in making the evening a great success and celebration of the wonderful memory that she and Jean created," says Chef Lachowicz.
