Reel Optimism Video Contest

The fourth annual Reel Optimism Video Contest will allow Clubs and individuals to submit a short (3 minutes or less) video that visually illustrates the sentence, "How My Best Brings Out the Best in Others."  With the creation of the new Oratorical World Championships, the theme for the 2016 video contest ties into the Oratorical Contest's 2015-16 school year topic.

Three separate categories will be offered in 2016.  Adult Clubs will be able to submit in the "Club Showcase" category while youth (JOOI) Clubs will enter videos into the "Youth Club Showcase" category.  Plus-NEW in 2016-a "Put your Optimism on Display" category has been created that will be open to the general public.  Submissions in this category will be accepted from community groups, other nonprofits and individuals.

The entry window for videos will be from February 17 to April 15, so start planning and filming now! Look for more details in future Hotline newsletters and the Winter magazine or click here.
Why Start a New JOOI Club?

The answer is simple, it brings an opportunity for youth volunteers to come together, and build an everlasting bond while giving back to their community through service projects. As Optimists, we all have the same goal, which involves putting others before ourselves to improve our community. Creating a new JOOI Club comes with many benefits for the community and young Optimists.  JOOI Members are given leadership opportunities to help improve communication skills, taught how to solve problems in peaceful ways, and to expect the best of life.

To build a JOOI Club, you will only need your Optimism because you can succeed in anything when thinking and acting positively. For more information on how to start a JOOI Club click here !
Faces of Optimism

If you or one of your fellow Club Members would like to be considered, post a professional headshot photo on Facebook or Twitter along with the hashtag #FacesOfOptimism

We will select several lucky Members in the coming months!
