"Thanksgiving is over, right?"

Notice all you have been given and thank the Giver.
Notice God at work and thank the Giver.
Notice God beside you and thank the Giver.
Notice God inside you and thank the Giver.
Notice God in others and thank the Giver.
Notice God in nature and thank the Giver.
Notice the need around you, open your arms to share, and thank the Giver.
Just look around where you are right now.
And thank the Giver.
~~Excerpt from a recent daily devotion by Ann Whitfield Carter (d365)

2 Corinthians 9:11-12  You will be enriched in every way so that you may be generous on every occasion, which is producing through us thanksgiving to God, because the service of this ministry is not only providing for the needs of the saints but is also overflowing with many thanks to God.

Dear Lord: help us to notice and be thankful, not just one day but every day. Amen.

wfppPreschool Ministry Update
The preschool ministry is off to a great start this school year! Several classes took field trips to the fire station, Page 158 Books, the Raleigh farmer's market, and the native American exhibit at the Museum of Natural History. Our storyteller, Carol Van Hise, came to visit and shared some stories and poems about fall with the children.

During the Fall Festival in October our kids enjoyed a costume parade and games. We enjoyed a delicious family lunch at the annual Thankful Feast with over 300 folks attending.   Our preschoolers donated 195 food items to  Tri -Area Ministries in November!  The preschool Christmas programs will be  December 13 and 14  at  11:30  in the sanctuary.

Preschool registration for the upcoming school year will be  January 16-19 for children ages 2 through 5 as of September 1, 2018. If you'd like more information, please contact Dawn Brown at 919-488-1820.

Preschool Scholarship Fundraiser
You are invited to join us at Milton's Pizza and Pasta in Wakefield on Tuesday, December 5, for great food, fun, and fellowship! You may dine in or carry out between 5 and 10 PM. A portion of all sales will benefit the scholarship fund for WFPP when you tell your server that you are with Wake Forest Presbyterian Preschool. We hope you don't miss out on this opportunity to support a great cause!

What goes up must come down!
Many thanks to all the members of WFPC who are involved in the 2017 production of Walk Through Bethlehem. Without your efforts, WFPC would not have been able to give this fine gift to our community. But soon, just like Christmas decorations, we must take down the set and the props and then store them until next year. On Saturday, December 9, we will be packing up Bethlehem for storage. For the early risers some will be starting at 8:30, but any time that you have will be appreciated. We plan to finish by noon.

Giving Tree
This year Mission and Outreach is doing a new thing -- we have two Christmas trees set out that have "ornaments" for you to take home. They highlight three missions of the church to which you and your family can give gifts: Christmas Angel, Back Pack Buddies, and the PC USA Giving Catalog. You pick an ornament that will have instructions on how to help; we will "de-decorate" our trees all the way up to Christmas Eve.  There's a table with instructions next to the trees. Please note: if you take a Christmas Angel, the gifts being distributed through the Boys and Girls Club need to be returned by Sunday, December 17.

DECEMBER FIRST FRIDAYS FOR FAMILIES will take place on December 8 (to accommodate Walk Through Bethlehem). We will be meeting a bit earlier than usual -- 5:30 instead of 6:00. ALL children have a role in the pageant, no rehearsal required! All families are encouraged to join us in the CLC on Sunday, December 24, at 9:00 AM as the children of the church present the story of the birth of Jesus Christ.

You will have the opportunity to sign your child up for one of the following roles:

Animal - We will have animal masks for children to wear if they choose to be an animal! And animal costumes from home are welcomed!

Angel - Angels wear tinsel halos, which are provided. Wear white leggings or tights.

Shepherd - Shepherds provide their own bathrobes; headpieces are provided. Please have the children wear Tevas or summer sandals.

RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS: It's that time again! WFPC Youth are heading out into our community to do nice things for people. Mark your calendars for December 10 from 4:00 - 7:00. We will start at the church by stuffing stockings for the participants in the Meals on Wheels program that meet in our church daily. We will then divide into cars and head out for our random acts. We will meet back at the church to share dinner and stories from the evening. Be on the lookout for the form to sign up! It is imperative that you sign up so we know how many drivers to secure.

WE NEED SINGERS!  All middle school and high school youth are invited to join a choir to sing at the 9:00 AM service on Christmas Eve (arriving at 8:15). Rehearsals will be on 12/6, 12/13 and 12/20 from 5:30 until 6:00 in the CLC. If you are interested or have any questions, contact Lisa Dolfi at
