Poverty? Here?
Did you know there are more than 300 homeless children in the Manhattan school district? Did you know 38% of children in USD 383 qualify for free or reduced lunch?

The prevalence of poverty in Riley County can be shocking.

Are you part of a group that would like to learn more about issues facing children and families in our community? Maybe you would just like to know more about Thrive! and how it operates.  Our staff and volunteers are available to present on a variety of topics:

  • The stresses of poverty
  • Brain architecture
  • The effects of trauma
  • and more!

We love the chance to share our knowledge, and hands-on activities are included. (The people in the photo above are building a brain!)

Contact Jayme Morris-Hardeman , Thrive! executive director, if you'd like a member of the Thrive! staff to visit your civic group, faith community, or other club or interest group to schedule a workshop.
