LI's Annual Meeting will be the first time reuse plans for the historic, former CPS school will be unveiled to the public!

Ghian Foreman, of the Washington Park Development Group, which purchased Overton in 2015, is looking forward to sharing his vision for the future of Overton School with Landmarks Illinois members.

Join us at our Annual Meeting to hear from Foreman about why this National Register-listed building is special to him and the Bronzeville neighborhood, and how it will be restored to once again serve the community.

"I'm glad to be one of the pioneers in Chicago with redeveloping former schools," said Foreman. "I also hope that Overton can be a good example for our legislators to create and expand a state historic tax credit. Finally, I hope that Overton serves as a model for the Bronzeville community and other communities around the city for how we can use the assets in the community and work together to get results where everyone wins. It will be remembered 60 years from now as one of the vital redevelopments that helped Bronzeville return to its prior glory."
