This two-hour workshop, in cooperation with NJIT's student newspaper The Vector, will show you the basics of podcasting plus discuss what content works best. Seating is limited to 50 people; reservations are required.

Participants will create their own podcasting platform and produce a 15-minute program. You will need your smart phone.
 
Trainers:
John Ensslin, reporter for The Record and former national president of the Society of Professional Journalists. Ensslin produces two podcasts: Studio SPJ and Record Talk Radio.
 
Paul Brubaker, former reporter and press spokesman for Rep. Bill Pascrell and Sen. Bob Menendez. Brubaker produces The Backgrounder, a podcast that can be found on NJ.com.
 
When: Sunday, Nov. 15, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
 
Where: New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, NJ. The workshop will be held in the Student Mall computer lab, Rooms 36 and 37. The Student Mall is below the NJIT parking deck.

Parking: NJIT parking deck, 154 Summit St., Newark. Parking in the NJIT parking deck is free.
 
Cost: $10; free for NJIT students/faculty and NJ SPJ members.
  
Requirements: Participants must bring their own smart phone.
